Biodiesel Pumps
As consumer demands grow, biodiesel pumps keep being added in the United States. Turmoil in the Middle East and rising gas prices are causing consumers to question our dependence on foreign oil to maintain our way of living. Economic troubles spark debate about US jobs, which could be added with more production of biodiesel fuel. Concerns about the earth’s environment are driving consumers toward products like biodiesel, which is non toxic, completely biodegradable and produces far fewer emissions than conventional petroleum based fossil fuels.
Biodiesel pumps are available in about half of the United States. There is a high concentration in the New England states. Nevada, particularly Las Vegas, has numerous biodiesel pumps and is in the process of adding more. There are no required modifications for diesel engines to use biodiesel fuel that is professional, pump quality. Most biodiesel stations provide a blend, using B20 biodiesel, which is 20% biodiesel and 80% petroleum based diesel fuel.
Even the blend produces noticeably fewer emissions than pure diesel fuel. It can significantly reduce the pollutants in the air like carbon monoxide, sulfur and particulates. A B20 blend allows users to emit fewer toxic chemicals into the atmosphere while maintaining the power and fuel economy that consumers demand.
When it comes to harmful emissions, every little bit helps. It also slows our consumption of non renewable fossil fuels, and reduces our dependence on foreign fuels in the US. A majority of the biodiesel fuel is produced in the US using US grown raw materials.
