Bio Diesel Processors
When you want to make your own bio fuel at home or you’re just curious, you’re going to need to research on biodiesel processors, a centrifuge or pump that heats a chemical and vegetable oil mixture to create the fuel while agitating it. These products can be purchased professionally or made at home using a lot of ingenuity and a couple trial runs.
For any size batch a biodiesel processor is going to do essentially the same thing. First it’s going to heat the chemical and oil mixture. This should be done in an airtight manner to avoid the leaking of any methanol gas that can cause flame as well as health risks. Once the oil and chemicals reach the correct temperature for processing, the biodiesel processor will agitate the solution for a given period depending on the size of the batch being produced. In order to keep the solution at the right temperature, the machine will either be well insulated or have a small heating source to keep the temperature constant. For this reason, all processors should have a thermometer to accurately read the internal temp of the solution.
The agitation can be done with a paddle mixture or a pump. The effect is generally the same – the chemical solution of lye and alcohol is incorporated with the oil to induce the chemical process to make a bio fuel. After the agitation is done, the machine (or set of buckets if that’s what you have) will rest the mixture to allow a glycerine by-product to settle before the fuel is removed to be washed of methanol traces.
