10 Largest Producers of Biodiesel
Singapore produces the most biodiesel oil in the world, thanks to Neste Oil. Their capacity is 800,000 metric tons per year. Most of their raw materials come from vegetable oil and meat fats that were previously waste products from the food industry.
Dynoil LLC is building a refinery in Huston, Texas that will be the largest producer of biodiesel fuel in the world. The refinery will be producing 100,000 gallons of vegetable oil per day when it becomes fully functional. They will eventually be producing 1.5 billion gallons of biodiesel per year from this refinery.
Brazil Eco Energia will produce 225 million gallons of biodiesel per year in Brazil. Their raw materials are primarily soybeans.
The third largest producer of biodiesel is being built in Alberta, Canada. Dominion Energy Services LLC will produce about 100 million gallons of biodiesel fuel per year at this plant. They will also be producing 100 million gallons each of ethanol and canola oil in the Alberta facility. They will be using wheat and canola oil as primary sources of their biodiesel.
SE Energy owns a plant in Chesapeak, Virginia that produces 320 million gallons of biodiesel per year.
Agri-Source Fuels owns a plant in Dade County, Florida that currently produces 40 million gallons of biodiesel fuel per year. The plant is capable of production of up to 120 million gallons of biodiesel fuel per year.
Imperium Renewables produces about 100 million gallons of biodiesel fuel per year in Grays Harbor, Washington. They use Canola oil in the production of their biodiesel fuel. They use canola in the production of their biodiesel fuel. The canola for their fuel is grown in the United States and Canada.
Louis Dreyfus produces about 250,000 gallons per day at their plant in Claypool, Indiana. This is a capacity of u to 80 million gallons of biodiesel fuel per year. Canadian Green Fuels in Saskatchewan, Canada is expected to produce over 63 million gallons of biodiesel fuel and other biodiesel products annually. They already have an operative plant at the Saskatchewan site that is being expanded for greater production. Two large companies are beginning a biodiesel plant in Miami, Florida. Oilsource Holding LLC and Greenline Industries LLC estimate the plant’s annual production to be 60 million gallons per year.
In Evansville, Wisconsin, North Prairie Productions is producing about 45 million gallons of biodiesel per year.
In Iowa Falls, Iowa, Cargill produces 37.5 million gallons of biodiesel annually. For raw materials, they use soybeans from Iowa Soybean Association.
